Welcome to May!
This May, we reflect on The Practice of Imagination—not as a method of escapism, but as a part of our spiritual path. Too often, imagination is dismissed as child’s play, something we abandon in favor of logic and reason. But what if imagination is precisely what allows us to love more deeply, to pursue justice, to act with courage and creativity in a world that longs for healing?
Unitarian Universalism, through its revised Article II values, calls us to nurture love, justice, equity, interdependence, and transformation. Each of these requires the ability to imagine a reality more compassionate, more just, and more whole than the one we know. Imagination is the bridge between the world as it is and the world as it could be.
This month, we invite you to practice imagination with open hearts and generous spirits. Join us for an outdoor service, a community picnic, planting raised beds, game night, our Coming of Age celebration, and recognition of our graduating seniors. We also continue our Rise for Freedom trainings and gather for our Annual Meeting.
Let us imagine—and build—a better world, together.
THIS WEEKEND AT GREATER NASHVILLE UU
In July and August, we host a Summer Song series of Worship services lay-led by members of our congregation. Summer Song services are a great way to learn more about a topic of interest from a member of our community.
This hybrid service will be in the Sanctuary at Greater Nashville UU Congregation, as well as on Zoom. See How to Join a Virtual Service at GNUUC.
After the service, join us for a potluck lunch.
During the summer months, children can play in the wiggle room during the service. It is connected to the Sanctuary. Some Sundays we may have activities outdoors in the playground or in the Religious Education Building, depending on staff present. To check in on childcare availability, contact kristin.reveal@gnuuc.org.

CONGREGATION ANNOUNCEMENTS
Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a nonpartisan educational and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the separation of religion and government as the only way to ensure freedom of religion, including the right to believe or not believe, for all. Please donate to Americans United through Share the Plate in July, defending freedom of religion, and freedom of belief.
Please help us by bringing bottled water to church during July. We will deliver to the Nashville Rescue Mission. If you have a large vehicle and can help with delivery, please let us know. Please put the water bottles on the table at the back of the Fellowship hall.
On Sunday, June 15, members from FUUN joined GNUUC for Music Sunday. More than 100 people attended in person, and over 30 attended online! After the service, refreshments were shared in the Fellowship Hall. This event was a great success for both congregations, and we look forward to more co-hosted events in the future.
