ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - CORRECTION:
The Adult RE offering for Sunday 10/28 will be the second class on mysticism offered by GNUUC Affiliated Community Minister, Rev. Dr. Cynthia Stewart (9:30-10:30, Main Room in RE Building).
Community conversations on the UUA Common Read, Justice for Earth will begin in November -- stay tuned for date, time and location to be announced.
This fall the Adult Faith Formations Class will be exploring mysticism. Experiences of oneness, visions of the divine, deep recognition of mystery at the heart of the ordinary - all of these find a home under the heading "mysticism." Mystics are found in all religions and also in secular settings; the deep knowing of the mystic goes beyond the boundaries of stated creeds or dogmas. In this ongoing series we will explore what mysticism is, the effects of mystics on diverse belief systems (including Unitarian Universalism), and what mysticism looks like in a 21st century setting.
Classes start on September 23 and will be on the 4th Sundays: 9:30 - 10:30 AM in the RE Building main room.
All are welcome! Childcare is provided.
Facilitator: Rev. Cynthia Stewart
