Greater Nashville UU Annual Yard Sale
8:00am until 4:00pm
Organizers: Mike and Sandy
We need your help!
This year we are planning our annual yard sale, but hope you will help us transform the process in a way that helps the aging and infirm organizers by helping with the gathering and presentation of the treasures we are all culling from our homes. We have big hopes for improving our fundraising totals for special projects "in the works." These changes are as follows:
Hold your treasures until the week of the sale, bringing only the things you cannot wait to move from your home.
Clean, organize, and price (used is not as valuable as new) your own contributions (we realize this will take careful planning and consideration so please start right away).
Using the tables provided, deliver your treasures to the fellowship hall sometime during the week of October 22 after lunch through October 27 until 7:00, setting them up as you see fit (remember that the wooden storage building should only be used if you find setting up to be overwhelmingly difficult to accomplish on your own).
Mike and/or Sandy will come by your home and help with your contribution if you find this last step difficult.
Volunteers needed to distribute flyers (provided by organizers) to local businesses, libraries, etc. before the week of the sale. Awareness is key to a good turnout.
Day of Sale
More volunteers are needed to work on the day of the sale taking the money and assisting buyers.
Clean up volunteers needed to remove unsold items to our local Goodwill and clean up our building. This is usually accomplished by dinner time when we can all toast and congratulate each other with a beer at one of our local eating establishments.
Contact Sandy or Mike to volunteer.
