March 19 - vernal equinox. You will see beautiful colors and vistas on a walk in the gardens. Note the tall magnolia tree that is filling out nicely. Caren saved it last summer from strangulation by an ancient grapevine.
GBBC - It's a Wrap
Wow, Just Wow! The 2020 Great Backyard Bird Count exceeded all expectations and set the bar even higher when it comes to public participation in worldwide citizen-science events! This year's count smashed previous records for number of participants, checklists, and species reported. More than a quarter-of-a-million people were counting birds over the four days of the GBBC this year!
Thank you!
Unsung heroes! Thank you, RE children and youth and their teachers, for putting out birdseed every week for our feathered friends. Thank you, Gene B, for trimming the liriope (monkey grass). The new growth will be lovely. Thank you, Caren S-S, for bringing the electrical cord to power the tools to trim the liriope.
