Helping hands needed to complete the gazebo and weed the playground.

As we nurture our connections together this fall, let’s build a virtual quilt together! This activity is inspired by the Threads of Connection virtual quilt project put on by the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. We’ll be making snack bags for Room In The Inn (RITI) as part of our 5th Sunday Service Project. The snack bags will be provided to the RITI community members. They give out 150-175 each week. Now that the weather is getting nicer, you are welcome to use the outdoor facilities at GNUUC to schedule meetings and casual get-togethers. We have tables and chairs you can use.

The Shared Ministries Council will be meeting soon to plan Fall Programming. All Team Leaders look for more information next week! We are excited to learn about the vision of ministry from the Board for the year and are looking forward to your ideas for implementing it.

Despite the hot weather, blooms are still going strong in the memorial garden.

The garden needs your help! Sandy B needs assistance in the garden. This would be a great opportunity for a student group or covenant group to volunteer. The weather is amazing and it is a perfect time to get some work done in the shade.

July Shared Ministries Reopening Survey

Please fill out one form per family. All information is confidential and will only be shared in summary form. If you need help filling out this form, contact Kris T. and she can help you.

This survey has three purposes:

1. We are gathering general vaccination information about your family. No names will be collected and individual responses will not be shared. The purpose of this section is to determine if we have 70% of the congregation vaccinated at this point.

2. We are gathering feedback on your family's comfort level with meeting in-person, either outdoors or indoors, starting this fall.

3. If you are a parent/guardian with children in our CRE program, or if you are interested in teaching, being a classroom helper, or facilitating youth in the fall, we are gathering information about Fall Programming.

I write today with guidance from the UUA about planning for safe operations in alignment with our UU values. The significant disruptions to life in our congregations and communities over the past year has been traumatic. There is, understandably, a deep yearning to gather again in person. Unfortunately, we are in an “in-between” transition time that continues to be risky. Our first concern continues to be safeguarding the well-being of our people and the public.

If you happen by the church on a sunny spring day, you may come across our newest member. This lady seems very interested in the comings and goings and frequently checks the front and back doors. We appreciate her keeping the property secure until the congregation’s return to in-person services.
