TUUCAN Mission Statement

❖ The Tennessee Unitarian Universalist Community Action Network (TUUCAN) is a statewide collective of Unitarian Universalists living and amplifying our shared values of justice, equity, transformation, plurality, interdependence, and generosity, with love at the center.

❖ We covenant to work for justice in Tennessee—supporting each other and sharing our resources as we work to live our UU values into practice across the state.

❖ We pledge to be a strong, united, and public voice representing those values to our elected officials and the public at large as active participants in our local and state democratic processes

What is flocking?

In biology, flocking is an emergent behavior - complex patterns rising from the interaction of individuals. When we share together in community, our fear-based responses can become trust-based responses. As a flock, we can create safe spaces for ourselves and each other beyond our individual capabilities or groups isolated from each other. We can help keep each other safe.
