Share the Plate for August: White Stork (Humanitarian Aid to the Frontlines in Ukraine)

White Stork is a US-based, veteran-led critical aid and last mile logistics charity that delivers medical supplies and evacuates civilians from the frontlines in Ukraine. Taking their name from the national bird of Ukraine, their mission is to give every Ukrainian the means to survive. They focus only on Ukraine, assembling and delivering high-quality individual first aid kits to soldiers and civilians. They also provide temporary housing and other forms of humanitarian aid. They do not provide any weapons or ammunition.

Individual first aid kits (IFAKs) contain tourniquets, emergency bandages, combat gauze, burn dressings, chest seals, and other critical supplies that could be the difference between life and death for a wounded Ukrainian soldier or civilian. US veterans have joined with Ukrainian patriots to deliver more than 136,534 individual first aid kits (IFAKs) directly to the frontlines.

Founded in 2022, White Stork has not been in existence long enough to be reviewed by Charity Navigator, which requires seven years of audited financial statements. However, it has received an A rating from Charity Watch for its financial efficiency, indicating a high percentage of its donations are used for direct program services. White Stork is also a platinum-level GuideStar participant, demonstrating its commitment to transparency.
