Sun. Aug 30, 1:00 - 2:00 PM: Installation Service Planning Meeting: We need your help!
We are so excited that Rev. Denise's Installation Service is coming up on Saturday, September 26, 2–4 PM. We need your help to prepare and participate in this service!
If you can help out, please come to the Installation Service Planning Meeting on Sunday, August 30, from 1–2 PM in the Sanctuary.
The Reception
615 Chutney will cater appetizer-style food for this event, delivered to us. The Fellowship Hall will be reorganized with a long buffet table down the center with a white tablecloth, and chairs placed around the edges of the room. Small plates will be provided. We will supplement the catered food with fruit, dessert, and drinks.
Volunteer roles we have filled
Marshal: Lisa Gunner (coordinates between the guest ministers, who will be preparing in the RE building, and what is happening in the Sanctuary)
615 Chutney Order Placer: Jesse Spencer-Smith
Buffet Onsite Coordinator: Susan Timmons — Susan will meet the caterer and get food items placed, with chafing holders as needed. She will also coordinate with the other buffet volunteers to get supplement items ordered (fruit, dessert, drinks).
Zoom Host: Kristin Reveal — the service will be livestreamed for those who can't be with us in person. We hope you'll join us in the Sanctuary to celebrate together.
Service Leader: Ryan Davison or Jesse Spencer-Smith
Service Preparer: Rev. Denise, with Kristin R. assisting on the slide deck
Order of Service (Hard Copy) Designer: Kristin Reveal
Volunteer roles we need filled
2 Greeters — welcome guests, have them sign in and get a name tag, and hand out the Order of Service
2 Ushers — direct guests to seating and families with children to the wiggle room
2 Childcare Providers for the Wiggle Room (we may have leads on this)
2 People to Bring Flowers for the podium and as centerpieces for the buffet table (we have a budget for reimbursement)
2 Offering Volunteers — ideally people already trained in collecting, logging, and depositing the offering
2 People to Organize the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, September 20, and set out tablecloths. Note: several people in the congregation will be at the TN Solidarity Summit in Memphis that Sunday. If you'll be here, we would appreciate your help!
2–3 Buffet Support — help Susan plan the buffet, put out and refresh buffet items, and clean up the kitchen
3–4 Cleanup — return the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary to their normal Sunday morning state
If you are able to help us put together this special Installation celebration service and reception, please come to the meeting. If there is a specific role you would like, you can reach out to one of us on the planning team: Rev. Denise, Kristin R., or Jesse S-S.
