Moral Budget: $30 Million for the Barnes Fund
For 10 years, the Barnes Housing Trust Fund has been a vital tool for creating and maintaining affordable housing in this city during one of the worst housing crises in Nashville's history. Last year Nashville's leaders ignored the Unified Housing Strategy recommendation of $30m for the Barnes Fund. This means the city's most valuable producer of affordable housing cannot live up to its potential, and we will be stuck playing catch-up until Nashville is unrecognizable. With a full investment of $30,000,000 into this fund this upcoming fiscal year, we could see over 700 affordable units built! Send a message to your councilmember and urge them to commit to choosing Nashville, and fight for a full investment of $30,000,000 into the Barnes Housing Trust Fund!
