December 2020 Board Updates

So many activities of the congregation continue behind the scenes for many during this dramatic year – ministry, leadership, development, and outreach. The building may be quiet, but the newfound utilization of video conference has greatly expanded our meeting opportunities from Sunday afternoons.

The board worked most diligently earlier in the year to address immediate needs: support the minister, staff, and groups who themselves support the individuals of our congregation and the larger community. As we found a groove and moved into an odd place between immediate crisis and a return to a “new” normal, we identified the ability to meet more frequently for less time each month (details below). Our virtual elections in the Spring were successful beyond hope as new and seasoned board members have risen to the unexpected challenge of providing leadership to a virtual community.

We meet next Wednesday evening; I will prepare a more detailed summary of the year’s work, ups and downs, and changes as we prepare to close out this remarkable year. We can be sure 2021 will bring new opportunities, needs, dreams, and challenges. We have shown ourselves and others we are a strong and resilient people; we need each other more now than ever, to give and to receive, and to wrap our souls in the power of love.

Warm regards,

Caren
