Welcome to summer at GNUUC!
I hope yours includes respite and rejuvenation in just the right balance.
My summers always include reading and research as I consider sermons and worship services for the coming church year. I’ve been thinking about the “Big Questions” of life, inspired in part by quietly witnessing interactions between and among our youngest, our youth, and our more “seasoned souls” at our recent All Church Retreat. The ways we encourage one another as we face the “Big Questions” in life is, in my heartfelt opinion, one of the great blessings we offer to one another as a congregation.
So with what “Big Questions” do you wrestle? And what answers have you discovered? I’ll be asking again as we move into summertime in Middle-Tennessee.
In the meantime, know that as we end our second church year together and begin our third (is that really possible?) I am encouraged by our deepening relationships and shared ministries.
Many summer blessings to you,
Rev. Carmen Emerson
